I have just finished the first half of my junior year at James Madison University. I am majoring in WRTC, Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communications. I have maintained a 3.76 GPA and have made the Dean's List every semester.
Experience
Although I am not an education major, I love teaching and coaching people one-on-one. There is a sense of fulfillment, from teacher and student, that comes with tutoring and attaining specific goals. I want to impact student's lives in a positive and productive way, and make education an enjoyable aspect of their lives. I have always loved learning, and if I can pass that passion onto one other student, my job would feel complete. Different styles of teaching connect with different students, and I feel, with my experience and enthusiasm, I can make an impact on student's lives. Not only do I love to teach, I am always available to talk and listen to any problems that students may have. Parents should be the first line of advice, but as someone closer to their age, I know I can give them helpful feedback, or just lend a non-judgmental ear. I have coached 2nd-8th grade girls field hockey throughout high school, and tutored middle school students in my Junior and Senior year of high school.

Hobbies
I enjoy many things in life. Family is very important to me, whether it be by blood or years of friendship. I just started as a DJ on our local radio station, and love music and attend many local shows. I enjoy biking, reading, drawing, and being outside. I've been an athlete my entire life, and continue to play pick-up games in college. I love watching any sports, whether they be live or on TV. I love animals, and currently own a chinchilla (and will hopefully soon own a dog). I have traveled throughout the country and a bit overseas, and plan to continue these travels after college.
