| Experience: | I have two little sisters I helped teach Math to as they grew up and over the summer I work at a camp where I regularly help younger children to read. I have found that I extremely enjoy helping other people to understand material and the satisfaction that is gained when a concept is grasped is not only felt by the student, but I feel pride in them as well.
I am very interested in languages and have studied a multiplicity of them and my greatest strengths are in that area. I have taken college level Spanish, am currently enrolled in Arabic classes, and studied Japanese in Japan. History is also a passion of mine, as well as culture, thus my choice as an Anthropology major. I have traveled through Europe and Asia as a result of my father's career and so have a very solid education in World History and Social Studies. |
| Hobbies: | I love to read and I love to be in the outdoors. I worked for several years at a Horse Barn/Goat Farm during my high school career and it was a fantastic experience for me in that I learned the value of hard work and patience that comes with dealing with and raising animals, while learning to balance that with my high school life.
I love to travel and see new places and have gained a good appreciation for differences among individuals and cultures and I enjoy interacting with people I have never met before. I love to cook, though I am still very much a beginner and have a better hand for baking than I do cooking. My favorite books are SiFi/Fantasy, with Lord of the Rings being my particular favorite. When I watch the TV at all, I usually have it on the History or Discovery channel, though I admit I have a terrible guilty pleasure in one or two reality TV shows. |
