Education

Hello! I am a Freshman at James Madison University. I am currently majoring in History, with a double minor of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (Geography, Economics and Government Studies) and Secondary Education. I plan to complete a 5th year at the University to receive my Masters in Education. When I graduated high school I was ranked number 6 out of a class of 207 and my GPA for my Freshman semester is a 3.5.

Experience

In high school my Senior year, I participated in the Teacher Cadet Program. With this program I received college credit from Shenandoah University. In this class I learned the fundamentals of teaching and spent a semester student teaching in a 4th grade classroom and compiling a portfolio. In my Junior year of high school I took an independent study course in Music Theory. As part of my final project I arranged a song for my high school band to play in addition to teaching the 8th grade concert band. During my Junior and Senior years of high school I was Drum Major for my marching band and was responsible for running rehearsals and help teaching the music. I have also been a volunteer summer camp counselor for my local 4-H center for the past 4 years. I am a college student looking for work and I feel that tutoring is an excellent job that for me that will also contribute to my future career plans.

Hobbies

I have a great love for music. I have been playing the Trombone since I was in the 6th grade and am currently a member of the Marching Royal Dukes at James Madison University. While in high school I was also a member of an alternative band where I played the piano and sang back up vocals. I also played soccer for 9 years and participated in 8 theater productions in my high school. I love to travel, and so have been to 22 states as well as traveled abroad to Italy, France and England.
