Previously tutored in French, English, American history, Calculus and Biology. I was employed by Northern Virginia Community College as a tutor. I had three college students whom I tutored twice a week in Biology, French and Calculus. I have also been tutoring in French and English since high school. AP Scores: French 5, English 5, World History 5, Psychology 5 Member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I have always enjoyed tutoring. Almost everyone in my family is a teacher at some level, from pre-school to college professor, and perhaps that is where I get it from. I love explaining a difficult concept or problem to someone who thought the subject was completely out of their reach, only to see their faces light up with understanding as they finally see the steps to a solution unfold. I believe that tutors are an essential part of the educational process. Teachers cannot always address an individual student's needs and they definitely cannot always alter the material to fit a student's personal learning style. As a tutor, however, I can provide the attention and materials to help someone succeed.
