Graduated 2016 Cum Laud with a B.S. in Psychology from Washington & Lee University and had a full merit scholarship. I am currently pursuing an MBA at Mary Baldwin, specializing in social responsibility. I was inducted into the ODK Leadership Honor Society for my work with tutoring and environmental service. I love Virginia and have lived in Staunton, Appomattox, and now Harrisonburg.
Experience
I am a trained ACT tutor by Breakaway Prep in Morristown NJ, and have tutored students, peers, cousins, and siblings for as long as I can remember. Starting in high school, I was a volunteer tutor. At Washington & Lee, I tutored at both Rockbridge High School and Middle School. In high school, my SAT score was 2070 and has since improved since becoming a tutor. I got into most colleges I applied for with scholarships. I have experience teaching Natural Resource Education throughout Central Virginia. I have taken math through Calculus AB and have taken the SAT and ACT countless times since becoming a tutor. I currently work part-time at JMU while taking business classes online. While math is my favorite subject to teach, I am competent in Psychology, English, Reading, and most K-12 subjects. I am a very thorough tutor and prefer to explain one concept completely, than skate through many. I love tutoring math the most because I enjoy finding the unique ways that your student understands the material.I want to be a tutor because I enjoy teaching and do best in one-on-one settings, where I can know your student's strengths and help bring them out in their studies. I had an excellent education and want to help others have the same.

Hobbies
I have many hobbies and interests, including cooking, gardening, and spending time outside. Last year, I helped start a farm at Augusta Health hospital and learned how being outside can improve cognitive functions as well as well-being. In terms of my community involvement, I am a member of Renew Rocktown, the Sustainability group in Harrisonburg, and am looking to get more involved in community programming. With your help, I would like to be a tutor and mentor to students in the area, so that I can help use the skills I learned throughout my extensive educational background to help your child.
