I have just finished the first half of my junior year at James Madison University. I am majoring in WRTC, Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communications. I have maintained a 3.76 GPA and have made the Dean's List every semester.
Experience
Although I am not an education major, I love teaching and coaching people one-on-one. There is a sense of fulfillment, from teacher and student, that comes with tutoring and attaining specific goals. I want to impact student's lives in a positive and productive way, and make education an enjoyable aspect of their lives. I have always loved learning, and if I can pass that passion onto one other student, my job would feel complete. Different styles of teaching connect with different students, and I feel, with my experience and enthusiasm, I can make an impact on student's lives. Not only do I love to teach, I am always available to talk and listen to any problems that students may have. Parents should be the first line of advice, but as someone closer to their age, I know I can give them helpful feedback, or just lend a non-judgmental ear. I have coached 2nd-8th grade girls field hockey throughout high school, and tutored middle school students in my Junior and Senior year of high school.
