Education
I am a senior English Major at James Madison University with a minor in American Studies. My current cumulative GPA is a 3.3; major GPA of 3.5. I already have an Associate's Degree from Lord Fairfax Community College, with a GPA of 3.5. I am in the application process for graduate school after I complete my B.A. in May of 2011, and I hope to one day become a professor of English.
Experience
I have taken far more English classes at the college level than necessary for degree, including a class on traditional English grammar and one on modern English grammar. I have a passion for education at all levels, especially for the increase of quality in literacy in America. I have no formal tutoring experience, but I have two younger sisters and two younger brothers, all homeschooled, whom I have been assisting with assignments for years. I also taught sunday school and VBS for several years at my parent's church, which gave me more experience working with elementary-aged children. I have also been babysitting since I was 12 years old, so I'm very used to making kids comfortable and in making their environments positive. I love working with students of all ages!
